It was a cold and icy week! The above video should remind you what summers in Oregon are like. The video above shows the new Wild Rivers Coast Scenic Bikeway. It’s near Port Orford on the Southern Oregon coast.
Did you make a resolution to improve your fitness? A few friends have asked me for trainer recommendations in the last week. Aside from TrainerRoad+Sufferfest or Zwift, there are great trainer videos on youtube, like GCN’s collection. Here’s a new one from them:

Related to the above, GCN gave some tips on motivation– this time of year, if you are training indoors, visualize what you want to do this year. Planning a bike-camping trip? A trip to the Alps? Some races with OBRA? Simply being able to set a new record climbing Mt. Tabor? GCN also put out a video for those who want to lose weight:

The following video isn’t in English, but it’s showing a new rain sensor-equipped road crossing in Rotterdam. It shortens the light cycle at a major intersection so riders spend less time waiting in the rain. The signal cuts the wait time from 80 seconds to 40 seconds, according to a Google translation. This week has been fairly quiet in the “new video” front, so I’m going to feature a few from the archives. I have a pile I’ve been saving and waiting to share. First, here’s an adventure “behind the iron curtain”. It’s basically great footage of riding in eastern Europe.
The second one has colorful words and is a humorous song about a bike:
Finally, I’ll share my video from Sunday’s “snowbiking”.
Honorable mentions: recreating the “pass a tire on rollers” trick with a fatbike. That’s it- like I said, quiet week!
Inclusion criteria: If I’ve missed something, post it in the comments! I prefer videos published in the last week or so. Note if there’s a specific point in a long video that is worth highlighting. Also note if there is colorful language. When it gets to spring, I will delay videos containing pro racing spoilers.
