Welcome to your menu of weekend rides and events, lovingly brought to you by our friends at Hopworks Urban Brewery.

Happy almost summer everyone. Hope you’ve been enjoying the fantastic weather of late (I actually like this little bit of clouds and rain we’ve had). Before checking out our menu of weekend events, remember that Pedalpalooza is going strong. You can check the full calendar online and we’ll post a preview of the week ahead tomorrow morning.

Below are a few events worth checking out that you won’t find on the Pedalpalooza calendar.

Saturday, June 14th

Gorge Ride — 7:00 am at the Gorge Discovery Center (5000 Discovery Drive, The Dalles)
Gorge Roubaix - Sunday-12
This eight annual ride is put on by the Friends of the Historic Columbia River Highway. It helps support their efforts to connect the historic highway from Troutdale to The Dalles. The ride is an out-and-back of 38 miles starting in The Dalles. You’ll ride on a combination of low-traffic streets and the State Traill (which is closed to auto drivers) where you’ll experience the amazing views at Rowena Crest, the fun of riding through the Moster Twin Tunnels, and more. More info here.

Blaq Packs Grand Opening and 7th Anniversary Sale – All day at 1100 SE Division

Our friends at Blaq Packs have a lot to celebrate. It’s their 7th year in business and they’ve just moved into a new retail space on SE Division (in the Ford Building). Join them Saturday for a big sale all day and then a party in the evening. They’ll have live screen-printing, a mural wall you can add too, a DJ, live music and more. More info here

Petal Pedal – All day from the Oregon Garden in Silverton (879 W Main St)
Choose from four different routes (30, 48, 71, or 100 miles) that loop out in petals from the beautiful Oregon Garden grounds in Silverton. This fully supported ride offers some of the best riding in the Willamette Valley and includes a climb up to Silver Falls State Park. More info here.

The Athletic Sprint Omnium/OBRA Championship — 9:00 am (racing starts at 10) at Alpenrose Velodrome (6149 SW Shattuck Rd)

A full day of good old-fashioned track racing that will decide this year’s OBRA champions. You can bet there will be some awesome action as the fastest sprinters in Oregon compete in four events: flying lap, match sprints, keirin, and win & out. If you show up, wear nice socks. More info here.

Sunday, June 15th

Bike Milwaukie June Ride — 9:30 am at Milwaukie City Hall (10722 SE Main St)
Join the fun volunteers from Bike Milwaukie for a jaunt up to the Springwater Corridor and into the South Waterfront area of Portland to check out the SW Moody Avenue cycle track and the immense bike parking area at the Go By Bike shop under the Aerial Tram. The ride will return to Milwaukie via the Sellwood Bridge. More info here (FB).

Welcome Rides: Eastside Neighborhood Loops — 9:30 am from Woodstock Park (SE 47th and Steele)
This Portland Wheelmen Touring Club ride will be about 25 miles at a moderate pace (12-15 mph). They’ll explore neighborhood bikeways and will stop at a coffee shop/bakery along the way. More info here.

— As always, if we missed anything, let us know. And feel free to promote your plans and rides in the comments. Have a great weekend!
