The Lloyd District’s Hassalo on Eighth project was financially feasible because it includes only one residential auto parking space for every two apartments. Developers are making room for almost two bike parking spaces for each unit, including an on-site bike valet.

As Portland’s government seems to be scaling back its bike investments after years of leading the nation, its private sector is charging ahead after discovering that bikes often play useful roles in their business models.

We are currently looking for bicycle tour leaders for our self-guided cycling trips in Oregon. The role will be suited to applicants residing in the Portland area.

We are seeking Bicycle tour leaders with excellent hosting skills, a high standard of professionalism & customer service and organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.

Applicants must have a cycling background, interest and knowledge of local history, culture, and nature, and enthusiasm for meeting people. Strong bicycle mechanic skills preferred.

Knowledge of wine and basic food prep a plus! Prior tour guiding or related customer service experience is preferable, clean driving record and proper licensing a must. No DUI’s on record. Applicants should be a minimum of age 21, and have or be willing to get standard First Aid and CPR certifications. Background checks will be completed. Additional qualifications and responsibilities will be provided to qualifying enquiries. This is a part-time, seasonal and contract role. As such, the guides must have the flexibility to be able to support a part-time and unpredictable workload focused on our peak seasons (June-September).
