The weekend is right around the corner and as per usual there’s a great selection of rides and events you should consider. Check out the details below…
Saturday October 12th
Family Pumpkin Pickin’ on Sauvie Island – 9:30 am at Grant Park, 11:00 am from Arbor Lodge Park
Just 10 miles from downtown Portland, Sauvie Island is a great bicycling escape. The PDX Cargo Bike Gang (a Facebook group) has teamed up with Kidical Mass for a family ride to one of Sauvie’s best destinations: Kruger’s Farm. The farm offers pumpkins, beer, food, and other activities. More info here.
Sunday October 13th
Cross Crusade #2 – All day at Rainier High School (28170 Old Rainier Road, Rainier OR)
The Crusade heads north this weekend for the second stop in the nine race series. The Rainier course features a legendary and steep paved climb out of the starting area, some super-fast descents, wooded trail sections, and other fun stuff. Should be a blast! More info here.
Division-Midway Neighborhood Ride, Roll and Stroll – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at 14601 SE Division St
As part of the Midway Fall Festival, PBOT is hosting a kickoff to their Division-Midway Neighborhood Street Plan process. City staff will lead four walks and two bike rides on Sunday to learn more about community concerns and ideas. They’ll have bikes and helmets to borrow if you need one. More info here.
Leaf Lookin’ Ride – 10:30 am at Crema Bakery & Cafe (2728 SE Ankeny)
Fall colors are starting to boom around Portland and this ride is a great excuse to take your time and soak them in. Join the very nice folks in the Easy Riders for a flat, 10-12 mile ride through southeast Portland’s tree-lined streets to “marvel at the autumn beauty”. More info here.

Epic Museums by Bike: Lovejoy Columns and Tom – 1:30 pm at Elizabeth Lofts Courtyard (NW 10th between Everett & Flanders)
Portland bike fun pioneer, artist, author and veteran ride leader Carye Bye has joined forces with Know Your City on what should be a fantastic and educational bike tour. The ride will highlight the work of Tom Stefopoulos, a Portland-based artist who was buried without a tombstone. Ride entry fee of $20 will help give him a proper memorial. The tour will also feature a stop to the former site of the Lovejoy Columns, a screening of Vanessa Renwick’s work-in-progress “Lovejoy” and more. More info here.
Red Bull Rampage on the Big Screen – 1:00 pm at the Lumberyard (2700 NE 82nd Ave)
Hang out at Portland’s awesome indoor mountain bike park and watch the Red Bull Rampage live on their big screen. The Lumberyard will have food and beer specials as well as prize giveaways. More info here.

Cyclewild Clackamas Camping Weekend Trip! http://www.cyclewild.org
FYI, the Cycle Wild trip was cancelled due to the 3 registered riders all cancelling. I believe our next trip will not be until February, when we will go cabin camping at Battle Ground Lake!
