The Sprockettes, Portland’s beloved mini-bike dance troupe, celebrated their seventh birthday at the Multnomah County Bike Fair last month. Now the group plans to train the next generation of bike dancers at their first-ever Sprockettes Girls Summer Day Camp.

If you’ve ever seen the Sprockettes perform you know that they’re a hit with kids. I’ve seen many little girls over the years watch wide-eyed as the ladies perform and then run up and ask for their autographs after the show.

This two-day camp (July 23-24) will be a perfect opportunity for girls aged 5-12 to meet the Sprockettes, boost their self-confidence, learn basic acrobatics, meet other girls, and of course, dance!

The camp includes two days of practicing and activities and culminates with a performance at Sunday Parkways Northwest, where the girls will perform an original choreographed Sprockettes dance. The cost of the camp is on a sliding scale. To register and find out more, visit Sprockettes.org.
