Like many bike-loving visitors of Portland, Russ Roca and his partner Laura Crawford are finding that it doesn’t take long to become wrapped up in our local bike scene.
From Long Beach, California, Roca and Crawford chose Portland as the first stop in their Path Less Pedaled project. Roca, a bike-based professional photographer and multimedia journalist, and Crawford, an artist, sold nearly everything they owned and have set out on a global bike journey to meet and tell the stories of people who “live their lives in unique ways”.
Over the weekend, they took part in a quintessential Portland experience — a bike move. Roca, of course, documented the event with his usual keen eye. He also put together a great little video of the event which you can view below (includes some fun handlebar-mounted footage):
You can meet Russ and hear and see more of his work at a special event we’re hosting tonight at Roots Organic Brewing (1520 SE 7th). We’ll be there starting at 6:00 for some socializing and then we’ll start the program at about 6:45 or so. Hope you can join us.

Great video Russ!
Great video – awesome that so many showed up for Curt’s bike move!
Excellent! Truly inspiring, even though I don’t like beer. 😉
