I’ve written about a lot of bike events over the years, but with the Cirque du Cycling — coming to Mississippi Ave tomorrow (Saturday) — I don’t even know where to begin.
Let’s see… there’s a parade of bike gangs (I’ve heard a clan of cargo bikers and the new, all-lady tall biker The Irondelles will be there) and art bikes (amazing builder/artist Neal Fegan will show up), a super-fast criterium race (event organizers expect a full pack of Pro and top category racers), a family ride, live entertainment, a beer garden, and more.
And did I mention it all happens on N. Mississippi Avenue?
I went to the Cirque last year and it was awesome (check out my photo gallery for proof). If you have any shred of bike love in your body, or if you’re just looking for a great way to spend a Saturday with family and friends, roll down to Mississippi Street tomorrow.

Yep, outside of the naked ride, and maybe Sunday Parkways, this is just about the funnest bike-related thing going. I would not miss this for anything, and we’ll be there for the whole day. If you’re really adventurous, you could finish off the day with the WNBR and really make it a hard-to-top biking day. In fact, if the first Sunday Parkway were a week earlier, you could almost roll straight from the naked dance party over to that. Hmmm, next year maybe!
Ditto mark’s comments – This one has it all Whole family will be there.
We look forward to having everyone at the Cirque du Cycling, Presented by Laughing Planet Cafe on Mississippi Avenue. Stop on by, check out CyclingCircus.com for more info on the event and times!!
This sounds like a lot of fun. Four of us will be there with bells on. Maybe even literally!
