BikeCraft, the bike-loverís gift bazaar that showcases local, handmade, bike-themed arts, crafts, fashion, and more, is coming next month.

BikeCraft IV will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at Roots Organic Brewing (on SE 7th, just south of Hawthorne) from 5:30pm until late. The location is right off the Hawthorne bikeway so you can stop in on your way home from work!

If you’ve never been to BikeCraft, it’s always a great night to get your hands on fantastic things you just can’t get anywhere else. Last year at BikeCraft we had locally-made “Smittens” bike gloves, bike-themed clocks, original stencil paintings by Tiago DeJerk, earthenware plates with bike motifs, bike-part furniture, messenger bags, cycling caps, t-shirts, zines, patches, stickers, and more! And everything is made by hand in Portland.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 10th and stay tuned for more updates and a list of vendors.

For photos from BikeCrafts past, check them out on the photo page. Learn more at BikePortland.org/BikeCraft.

If you’re a crafter, builder, artist, etc… and you’re interested in being a part of BikeCraft, send an email to Elly Blue at elly@bikeportland.org (by the way folks, Elly is now officially working with me here at BikePortland World Headquarters! More on that later).

NOTE: We love your comments and work hard to ensure they are productive, considerate, and welcoming of all perspectives. Disagreements are encouraged, but only if done with tact and respect. If you see a mean or inappropriate comment, please contact us and we'll take a look at it right away. Thank you.

Isn’t this the same event that coincided with a group night ride last year?

Darn, I have a meeting that night. Will it still be going by 9 or 930?

Mark: I’m not sure, but I bet anyone announcing a ride to or from the event would have plenty of takers.

Brettoo: Yep, it’ll go pretty late — we’ve got the space til closing, so it’s a matter of how much stock the vendors bring. Last year it wasn’t showing any signs of quieting down by 9:30.

If you call ahead, you can bring your trailer and take home a yummy keg of orgasmic beer. Ooops, meant /organic/.

I think a keg of beer would make a great raffle prize… and in order to win you must carry it home on your bike!

I always score on great holiday gifts at BikeCraft, so I can hardly wait for the ’08 edition. Thanks for the news!

Also, I’m glad to see this year’s event happening at Roots Brewing….
