Tonight: Brett Jarolimek Memorial Fund Benefit

A staggeringly awesome raffle and silent auction. Free beer. Free food. Lots of great people. Support of a fund to improve bike safety in Portland.

Do you have any reason not to go to the Brett Jarolimek Memorial Fund Benefit?

Tonight, Bike Gallery (where Brett used to work) will host the event at their downtown store (1001 SW 10th Ave.) to help kick-start a new program that will help fund worthy bike safety projects in our communities.

I just glanced at the event website and the list of raffle prizes and items up for silent auction is quite impressive:

    -Custom Signal Cycles frame
    -Veloforma custom frameset
-Grochau Cellars 1.5 liter bottle of Pinot Noir
-Montinore Estate Winery 1.5 liter bottle of Pinot Noir
    -Mary Kay gift bag
    -Ironclad performance wear gloves
    -Cellar door coffee basket
    -Courier Coffee
    -Banjo Bros commuter bag
    -Banjo Bros laptop messenger bag
-Three $100 Higgins Restaurant gift certificates
    -Haro Nyquist One BMX bike
    -Fun Reflectors
-Gracie’s Wrench gift certificate (bike maintenance classes)
-90 minute massage from Stephanie Edman
-Private yoga class from Ellee Thalheimer
-Professional bike fitting courtesy of Dani Dance
-Wabi Woolens locally made, wool jersey
    -Art supplies from Art Media
    -Framed, autographed Lance Armstrong picture
    -$50 GC to a farmer’s market stand
-2 Carrie Blowers original hats, made locally from recycled materials
-Wheels custom built by Andrew Fiore, Beaverton Bike Gallery’s service manager (labor only!)
-4-class gift certificate to The Peaceful Soul yoga studio on NE Alberta

And that’s not all (nor does it include the part about free Laurelwood beer…and you should see the food menu!).

I hope to see a very large crowd tonight.
