I heard from Dani Dance this morning. She’s organizing the upcoming Official UnOfficial Single Speed Cyclocross World Championships.
When I first mentioned this event back in July, I didn’t have many details and now I’ve got the latest scoop.
Dance says the event will be held in tandem with a Cross Crusade race on November 10-11 in Estacada.
If you’d like to participate, online registration is now open.
Here’s more about the event from the official press release:
“…the SSCXWC is a two-day event including a time trial qualifier on Saturday and the Grand Boucle on Sunday. Festivities to follow each day, it could be the best time had on and off the bike.
Saturday November 10, 2007: Time trial qualifier, with creative intermediate time bonuses. Following the time trial there will be a last chance wild card race. A mass start for those who did not qualify during the time trial for 10 reserved spots.
Sunday November 11, 2007: The Big day. The Championships will be a one hour cross race in the notorious Estacada Timber Bowl. Mud guaranteed, rain highly likely, more spectators than a Belgian Cross race and almost as much beer.”
The spoils of victory include custom-built frames from Vanilla Bicycles and Ahearne Cycles.

…and even if you don\’t win a custom frame, there\’s a great chance to see a heap of them right after the races on Sunday.
The 1st Annual OREGON HANDMADE BICYCLE SHOW at the World Forestry Center in Washington Park will be open until 7pm.

Is that a Dr. Doom belt in the pic with the Vanilla?
I plan to win a DOOM belt in the N.O.I.S.E. ride this year.
