Note: I'm currently on a family trip and not working normal hours. Email and message responses will be delayed and story and posting volumes here and on our social media accounts will not be at their usual levels until I return to Portland August 12th. Thanks for your patience and understanding. - Jonathan Maus, BikePortland Publisher and Editor

What do Portlanders ride?

Back in January, a member of the Portland Bike Forums started a thread asking what other folks ride.

Since then, over 70 people have replied. I thought it’d be fun to take a look at the wide variety of bikes posted. Here is just a sampling…

Check out the thread for more, and feel free to post your ride.

Hey, that\’s my Raleigh!!

Yes, the cammo h-bar tape adds about 6 style points, which, along with a tailwind, makes for a great commute.

I was just thinking today as I dismounted at work: This is the same freaking bike I was riding as a freshman in high school! Talk about durable goods.

My \’80 Comp GS thanks you for its 15 minutes, Jonathan.

Now, now, Tony, humping your own creation – no matter how GORGEOUS it is – comes with the penalty of shaving yer sideburns …

That bike may be Tony\’s creation, but it\’s Beth\’s bike! It lives in our house.

We\’re doing our best to take care of it.

I\’ve been riding my black Bianchi Milano since 2004 and love it. The 8-speed Nexus hub has been just right.
