Just a quick reminder about a great ride coming up tomorrow night. The annual Night Ride benefits the BTA and always offers up an enjoyable bill of fare, including disco-dancers, pajama clad riders, fire dancers, and of course, doughnuts.
The ride leaves at 9pm from the Train Station downtown, and registration will be open before the ride.
Now get back out there and enjoy the sun.

I know this is unrelated, but Todd danger\’s Vanilla track bike was stolen late last night off the yellow line Tri MET train.
It is flat black, true track, and a very small size, so should be very obvious .
If you see this bike, please either call the police and follow the person, or just steal it back from them, as we all know how much this bike is worth, emotionally and financially, to Todd danger.
Or call me and I will come help you..

Thanks Dabby
Dabby, please post this on the stolen bike blog, and on the Puma board, and on Cranked, and on Mass Magazine, and anywhere else you can think of. for what it is worth, I will put it on Zoobomb\’s board and tell every freak biker I know about it.
Any pictures?
Does it have the Vanilla logo on it?
Tonight\’s ride is going to be off the hook! The costume contest has great prizes, we\’re showing Filmed by Bike movies at a bike-in theater and there\’s a disco party rest stop at the MLK Fashion Plaza.
Oh, and how about that all-you-can-eat (honestly!) doughnut finish line feast, the fire jugglers, Last Regiment Drummers at the start and the live music on course.
If you\’re not already registered, don\’t worry, just come to the start line at 8pm and we\’ll get you all signed up.
Proceeds benefit the BTA, so this ride is not to be missed.
Flat black with gloss black painted on Vanilla logos. It is a professional paint job, not rattlecan. It has the Vanilla head badge and I think it has the \”V\” cutouts on the track dropouts. It also has oversize Deda Elementi Pista handlebars and pink toestraps. Not sure about the wheelset.
This bike has been found! Check out the comments here:

Somewhat off-topic, but what a sweet paint job that must be. Glad it was found and recovered!
Any word on what the official turnout was for the Night Ride? It seemed like more people than I remember in years past.
Fun, as always, although it was COLD last night. Not the warm summer nights we\’ve had before.
It WAS cold! I should\’ve brought a fleece. It was fun, though I wish I\’d stayed at the rest stops longer. I was done with the ride by 11:00. Maybe the cold had something to do with it. Brrr..
Very fun ride, great route, great weather. I just didn\’t like being in the front; what\’s a \”group ride\” without being in a group. Next time I\’m going to take it down a notch.
What is the update on the bicycist who went down hard at the Albina MAX station section (outbound)?
I stopped and did traffic control (until the EMTs took himher away] so I was not able to tell the severity of the injuries (if hit by freight truck or stuck in MAX tracks) or if they were part of the event.
Thanks to all the understanding riders and motorists who waited for traffic to pass after being directed away from the crash site. (Only a few drivers and non event riders ignorned me.)
AND Thanks for all who brought costumes and teams to the event…it was very fun to be a costume judge…pretty tough choices for the great prizes (for each catagory: #1: 2 RT Amtrak Cascades tickets, #2 \’I forgot\’; #3: Filmed By Bike DVD and stickers)
Second prize was Hottest Day of the Year Ride Tickets, because that\’s what I won! Thanks for voting for me… it was fun.
