Multnomah County Bike Fair tomorrow!

Mult. County Bike Fair!

Be there or regret it all year.
Saturday from 2-7:00 at
Col. Summers Park (SE 20th/Belmont)

Tomorrow is the big day we’ve all been waiting for…the Multnomah County Bike Fair! I hope you’ve blocked off some time to get over to Colonel Summers Park (SE 20th and Belmont) to check it out. Things get rolling at 2:00 and will be going strong until around 7:00.

I’ve been talking with the organizers and reviewing the schedule and oh my, it is going to be unforgettable.

The entertainment line-up includes:

    Mult. County Bike Fair!

    The Sprockettes are just one
    bike dance troupe that will
    perform.
    (File photo)
  • Bike dance troupes: Sprockettes, Brakes (all-male), BC:Clettes, and the Velo Vixens.
  • Bands: Coney Island Cartel, Sukey Tawdry, The Spokes, Gatas en Zapatas.
  • Bike competitions: Blind Race, Pie Joust, Chariot Whiplash, Figure 8 Derby, Bike Joust.

And then of course, there’s the midway area that will feature all sorts of local bike clubs, merchandise, food, drinks, etc…

Round up family, friends, neighbors, and your good time spirit. You will not be disappointed…but if you don’t come you will regret it!

Check out my photo gallery from last year.

Is there an actual schedule to be seen somewhere? We\’re hoping to show the Sprockettes to some out of town visitors, and want to time our visit appropriately.

Thanks!

Bike dance troupes, including the fabulous Sprockettes and guests from BC the B.C.Clettes, will be performing more toward the end of the evening — if you show up around 5:30 you shouldn\’t miss em. You might want to show up even earlier, though, like around 3:30 to see the Brakes, the first-ever all-male mini bike dance troupe. Yowza! And there will be rocking bands, unbelievable competitions, and serious clown silliness throughout the event. Basically, you can\’t go wrong.

Will the celebration continue after the fair ends at 7pm? I have a group of people who need a taste of Pdx bike culture, but 7 is about the earliest we could get there. I\’d love to know about any after party that may be in the works.

Hey, the way to find out about the \”MCBF\” afterparty is to volunteer at the event. Ask for VJ.

If nobody from your groups is able to volunteer during the event, you can most likely help clean up the park, and when that work is done you\’ll find out about the afterparty.
