With a long weekend coming up, I can’t bear to leave that CafePress story front and center.
I hope you don’t mind, but I can’t resist sharing these photos of my four year-old daughter Eleni. On our way home from the Three Bridges celebration last weekend, Eleni hopped aboard a friend’s tandem. She was so excited to be up there, speeding along the Esplanade with her feet strapped in.
She smiled like I’ve never seen her smile before. The pictures tell the rest of the story:
Sometimes life gets so crazy I forget how magical bikes can be. Enjoy the weekend!

Eleni rocks the world! You go girl!
Thanks, Jonathan for the pix. I’m sure you can’t wait until she’s riding to and from school under her own power.
(Look! there’s another gray hair!) = )
The cuteness is overwhelming — like cryptonite for cynicism! Great way to start the weekend.
Thanks for the reminder that TANDEMS ARE TWICE THE FUN! (except when you’re riding one solo, and every single person you meet tells you that your friend fell off…)
Hey Jonathan and Eleni! I’m glad we could give you a ride. We’ll have to do it again sometime and we can bring along the other tandem for mommy to ride WITH daddy!
Have a great weekend. I hope to see y’all out on the trails!
Have a great weekend Jon! Eleni looks so much like it’s almost scary! Have a wonderful, bike filled three day with the girls!
(I meant to say “so much like YOU it’s almost scary”… sorry.)
Mizée, you’ve got all the cool bikes!
Yay for cute! Cute is awesome.
hey…. come on over Peder, you can ride them too 🙂
Ha Mizée! I just might have to take you up on your offer – a dual family N PDX bike ride.
Scott, Peder, Jonathan, and other awesome fathers:
As you probably realize, Pedalpalooza is fast upon us. So if you want to be part of a big army of kids and Dads taking the streets, there’s no better time to do it than by joining in on one of the Father’s Day rides on the 17th:
