Life imitates art on Cycle Oregon

If you’re new to this site, you might have missed my coverage from Cycle Oregon last September. I posted daily reports (when I could find a signal) and uploaded hundreds of photos from the road.

One of my shots, taken from the saddle while riding into the small town of Union on day four, was noticed by artist Aimee Erickson. She used it as a reference for an illustration to decorate some Cycle Oregon stationery.

Check out the original photo and her card below:

Looking through all my photos from last year’s ride brings back great memories and reminds me just how awesome Cycle Oregon is. I can hardly wait to get back on the bike and do it again this year!

Good to have you back again Jonathan. I am relocating to Hawaii in about a month, but have a purchased a spot for this year. I hope I can make it back for C/O! Hopefully I will see you on the road and in the beer garden!

Wow. Shades of Frank Patterson [British bicycle artist whose work was seen in newspapers and cycling publications in England during the first half of the 20t century].
Only Frank didn’t know from helmets…

Nice.
