It’s a Slug Velo ride? I’m not seein’ it on the slugvelo website either…

Have vegetarians hacked the meat out of the internet?

There are a number of groups doing Verboort rides of varying lengths – PWTC, Portland Velo (starting at Longbottom’s in Hillsboro), and the Oregon Randonneurs (starting at the McMenamin’s Grand Lodge in Forest Grove), to name a few. I was hoping to do the Randonneurs’ populaire but now it looks like I will be working, instead. Of course, all I would have been eating at the fest would be the sauerkraut . . .
Whichever ride you do, have fun, dress warmly, and watch out for cars driving too fast on narrow wet rural roads 🙂

Many different clubs ride to the Verboort Sausage Festival. The Oregon Randonneurs is taking the long route. Starts in Forest Grove and ends 62 miles later in Verboort (which is just 2 miles from the start). 60 intrepid cyclists have already signed up and are coming from as far as CA and WA. see http://www.orrandonneurs.org for details and to sign up. Be prepared for 62 miles in the rain and to abide by randonneuring rules. If rain isn’t your thing, hook up with another club. Randonneurs tend to not worry much about things like a little bit (or lot) of rain.
