Pedalpalooza Daily – 6/12

[Pedalpalooza runs from 6/8 – 6/24 and is organized by Shift to Bikes. View the full schedule here and get the latest ride reports here.]

Start the morning with a coffee ride, sample Northeast’s finest pad-thai for lunch, and then kick away the pounds with the Zoobomb crew…and gain everything back on the donut ride, led by none other than Captain Pastry!

Here’s a list of today’s events:

COFFEE RIDE
4001 N. Mississippi (The Fresh Pot)
7:30am, Let us say between 7:30 AM and 8 AM
Most of us drink the coffee to power our bicycles. Honestly, you can’t go into a cafe without hearing the awkward steps of cyclists wearing click-ins or helmets seated beside a bagel and espresso. Let us caffenate together

BIKE EXIT STRATEGY

Failing & Haight (UnThank Park)
9:15am
The Boosh admin may not have an exit strategy, but you shouldn’t be without one when it comes to bike blunders. With basic techniques gleaned from the bike ninja convenant, you’ll practice the slap-outs, bail-outs, and even the Shatner roll, helpful in crashes. Mostly you’ll gain a greater confidence with your bike riding. All rider levels and body types welcome. Bring loose-fitting, grubby clothes. Attendees (who survive) receive a bike ninja headband.

In Thailand, Bicycle Powered chefs pedal their entire restaurant around until they find a great spot to set up. Join us as we pedal to Portland’s finest Pad Thai Palaces to sample noodles and more. Veggie or Chicken? You will learn how to say “No MSG” in Thai! Bring a cup or bowl to reuse at each tasting.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DOUGHNUTS

NE 30th & Killingsworth (Cup & Saucer Cafe)
9:15pm, Fill up your travel mug with coffee – At 9:30 we ride!
Hey, the World Naked Ride was last weekend. Now you can get your pastry on, all night long. We’ll tour the town that has no shame – I mean, 3 donut rides in one Pedalpalooza? A little preview of Heaven, even as you make your arrival there sooner…
