31-year old Jeremy Jordan, who was sentenced to 70 months in prison after being charged with hit-and-run and DUII in November 2008, is now reaching out to the public and the media to tell his side of the story.

In the early morning hours of May 10th, 2008 an intoxicated Jordan stole beer from a Safeway store clerk (who refused to sell it to him), sped out of a parking lot and struck Eric Davidson, who was biking down NE 69th near Fremont. Jordan did not stop to check on Davidson and was caught by police shortly thereafter.

Davidson -- who was more heavily intoxicated than Jordan -- sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury from which he will never fully recover (his wife kept a daily blog of his recovery). (more...)

Friends of Eric Davidson -- the 36-year old man who was the victim of a hit-and-run in Northeast Portland last May -- are putting on a benefit dance to help defray his medical expenses.

After pleading guilty last month, a judge sentenced Jeremy Jordan to five years and eight months in prison this morning.

Jordan is the man who sped out of a Safeway parking lot after being denied purchase of beer and struck Eric Davidson as he rode on NE Fremont street back in May. (more...)

Jeremy Jordan pled guilty yesterday to second-degree assault and drunk driving. Back in May, Jordan sped out of a Safeway parking lot and struck Eric Davidson as he pedaled down Fremont Street in Northeast Portland.

Jordan, who was angry at being refused alcohol by the store clerk, left Eric lying in the road and was arrested a short time thereafter. Jordan had a blood-alcohol level of .18 and Davidson had a blood alcohol level of .25.*

Back in May, 36 year-old Eric Davidson was seriously injured when he was allegedly struck while riding his bike by 30 year-old Jeremy Jordan. Mr. Jordan -- who has since been arrested for hit-and-run -- was allegedly speeding out of a Safeway parking lot in Northeast Portland when the collision occurred.

Eric is still on the long road to recovery from his life-threatening injuries. Nearly three months have passed since the crash, and still, even the simple feat of walking is celebrated by his loved ones.

I wanted to notify you of a benefit fundraiser coming up this Sunday for Eric Davidson, the bicyclist injured May 10 while biking near the Safeway supermarket on Fremont Street in Northeast Portland. The event is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 10, at Fremont Ridge Bar and Grill, 5103 N.E. Fremont Street, Portland, Ore. There will be a silent auction and barbecue, with the net proceeds going to the Davidson family.

Any press you can give this event would be greatly appreciated. Tickets are $10 at the door, which entitles holders to bid on any of the auction items and eat free at the all-you-can-eat barbecue. Jeremy Jordan, the driver in a hit-and-run on May 10 in Northeast Portland has posted bail (10% of the $307,500 total bail amount) and has been released from custody.

Jordan attempted to steal beer from a Safeway store after being refused service. When he drove out of the parking lot -- at a "high rate of speed" according to investigators -- he collided with Eric Davidson, who was riding his bike down NE Fremont Street.

The collision left Davidson with serious injuries and he is still in the hospital. According to a blog by Davidson's wife devoted to his recovery effort, he just underwent four hours of back surgery yesterday. (more...)

The Portland Police Bureau's Major Crash Team was called to the scene of a serious injury hit-and-run that occurred at 2:44 am this morning (Saturday, 5/10) at the 6900 block of NE Fremont St. (just north of Sandy Blvd).

According to the PPB, officers have determined that 30 year-old Jeremy Jordan entered a nearby Safeway to buy some beer. When employees refused, he reportedly attempted to steal the beer.

Jordon then ran to his car and began to drive out of the parking lot "at a high rate of speed". (more...)
