Weekend Event Guide

Here’s the scoop on weekend events. Feel free to add your own and discuss your plans in the comments.

Thursday, January 21

5:00pm – 7:00pm: Portland Car-Free Happy Hour
Car-free by chance or choice? Professionally involved in transportation and livability? Just want to meet people? All are welcome to meet up at this monthly informal social gathering. Floyd’s Coffeeshop, 118 NW Couch.

6:30pm – 8:30pm: East Portland Action Plan Bike Subcommittee Meeting
East Portlanders, time to get your activism on. Meets at Muchas Gracias,1307 NE 102nd.

Friday, January 22

10:00pm – early: Freak Friday!
Tall bikes, short bikes, long bikes, swing bikes, side hacks, mobile sound systems and more. All bikes welcome but freak bikes set the pace at this all night extravaganza. Meet at Irving Park, NE 7th and Fremont

Saturday, January 23

8:15am – 1:15pm: Sunnyside Tree Planting by Bike
Bring your trailer or cargo bike, your zest for tree planting, and your appetite. Friends of Trees provides the rest. Leaves at 8:15 sharp from Sunnyside Church, 3520 SE Yamhill. Rain or shine. RSVP requested.

10:30am: Wanderlust Men’s Cycling Ride
Meet in the middle of Holladay Park (NE 11th and Holladay) for a mellow, chatty ride up to a lunch spot on Alberta. Beginning riders welcome. Canceled if pouring.

Friends of trees are also planting in the Durham park area on Staturday.

Rob’s Twin Peaks Ride! NON competitive hill ride! Work off those donuts!

Meetup is at Stumptown on Division (SW 45th & Division) at 9:00 on Saturday; we ride at 9:30.

stoked about this friday’s North Freak ride. We have some fun games and bike fun planned at both a mid way stop, and at the end location. And our sound system is back up and booming! Ride is likely meeting closer to 10:30pm.
