Final days to comment on Metro’s funding priorities

Metro wants our input to help them set priorities on how to spend the $225 million dollars they secured through their Natural Areas bond measure.

They’ve had a series of open houses and the comment period ends this Friday (7/6) (you can comment online, see below).

Several of their 27 regional target areas are in Portland and have potential to eventually provide additional bike trails or enhance existing trails. They are:

You can still weigh in by filling out an online survey. Just go to the Regional Acquisition webpage, click on any of the 27 target areas, then Scroll down the page to answer the online survey specific to the target area.

    It's an amazing lot of stuff Metro has going on. Nice website too. I can't pick. I want it all.

    $224 mil would build some sweet trails, but doesn't seem like it could go far enough to acquire land. Columbia Slough gaps, Gresham-Fairview trail gaps. I could selfishly pick only East side projects, but I want a commuter corrider for Westerners. Fanno Creek and the Westside trail could serve a large percentage of commuters. I gave Metro my $.02.
