Historic Portland Bike Map (c.1896)
Long before those motorized steel boxes took over our streets, Portland was ruled by bikes. This amazing map (photos here) was created in 1896 and shows a detailed bikeway network, offers pointers for cyclists, and has some fun old advertisements (who knew Meier and Frank used to sell bike clothing?!).
