Portland in Raleigh catalog
[The inside cover]

Raleigh Bicycles may be based in Seattle, but their 2007 catalog is based in Portland.

The catalog includes some great photos of local riding spots and several articles about various aspects of Portland’s bike culture and community.

[Detail of catalog]

Featured in the catalog are short stories and photos of the the Cross Crusade, Alpenrose Velodrome, the Seattle-to-Portland ride, Bridge Pedal, Forest Park, PDOT, the Tour de Fat, and the Community Cycling Center!

I helped with some of the copy-editing and they even used a bunch of my photos…so it was exciting to see the final product.

You can browse a few more pages from the catalog here, or check out the whole thing at our local Raleigh dealer, The Veloshop (211 SW 9th Ave.). I’ll update this post with the full PDF version soon.

I don't know much about the production of Raleigh bikes but having a whole page that says, "Made in Oregon" seems a little misleading.

By the way, a long term messenger, and wonderful man, Matt Case, is the model for many of the Portland shots.
He switched from riding for a living to customer service for Raleigh.
Props to Matt Case, but i don't advise looking up his "Kilt".

I don't think anyone is going to think Raleigh's are made in Oregon. I think they thought about changing some of the stuff though, like Photoshopping 'China' where it normally says 'Oregon', or changing the name of the company to 'Meth', that's made in Oregon, Washington too! =)
