Photo: Alex Williams Metroblogging Portland writer Alex Williams had a run-in with the Day Time Naked Bike Ride yesterday. He pulled up next to a group of cyclists sans-clothing on SE Stark. The run-in inspired Williams to compare Pedalpalooza to the Rose Festival (an annual event that coincides with Pedalpalooza each June). Not surprisingly, he … Read more
(File photos) Pedalpalooza is in full swing. We’ve already ridden naked, explored obscure bikeways, and jousted to our hearts content. So far I haven’t been able to attend as many rides as I’d like (that will change in a few days!), so I’ve been trying to figure out a way for everyone to share their … Read more
Download party flyer That’s right folks. The big and gnarly World Naked Bike Ride and Dance Party is tomorrow night. The Zoobombers: Everyone knows what they do. Chunk 666: Mutant bike builders preparing for “car”mageddon. Dropout Bike Club: They build all types of bikes (tall, swing, spin, … Read more
Pedalpalooza — a 17-day explosion of bike rides and events that sets Portland’s cycling scene apart from all others — kicks off with a roaring start today (actually, there’s a morning ride on the Columbia Slough going on right now).
The City of Portland will lead a bike ride to celebrate the grand opening of the recently completed Naito Parkway Reconstruction Project.
Just a reminder that tomorrow PDOT is hosting a special edition of their monthly Bicycle Master Plan Rides. Last month we rode in the wake of a potential funding cut, but now we ride with renewed confidence on our journey to making Portland a better place for bikes.
