Weekend Event Guide: Sprockettes Farewell, Winter Formal Sale, Rose Lane Open House, and more

Friday, December 6th

Sprockettes Farewell Party – 7:00 pm at The Watershed (SE)
Portland’s beloved mini-bike dance team will take one final bow at this big party and celebration. Come out and witness history. Event includes silent auction of Sprockettes merch, live bands, two Sprockettes dances, and more! More info here.

Saturday, December 7th

Endless Summer Saturdays – 9:00 am at Green Bridge Coffee (NE)
The welcoming Club Roule doesn’t let winter keep them from riding together. Put on a layer or two and roll out for this “endurance-pace” ride with various route choices depending on your skill/fitness level (or mood). More info here.

Rose Lane Project Open House – 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at North Portland Library Community Room (N)
The second of three open houses to learn more and get your questions answered about PBOT and Commissioner Eudaly’s big bus initiative. More info here.

Bike Ride to the Umbrella Parade – 2:45 pm at Piccolo Park (SE)
Noted ride leader Tom Howe invites you to join a group ride from Portland to Milwaukie to join the annual Umbrella Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. What a perfect excuse to explore this awesome city to the south. More info here.

Civil Unrest December Ride – 1:00 pm at Salmon Street Fountain
This accessibility and inclusivity-focused group will roll their trikes and bikes down some hills throwing care and caution to the wind. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate and a few bucks to grab food for yourself at the cart pod end spot. More info here.

Sunday, December 8th

Holiday Express Ride – 10:30 am am at Woodstock Park (SE)
Like to ride with power? Did you know there’s a historic steam engine train that runs during the holidays on the Springwater Corridor? This ride will do a loop along the paths, then up to the Rose Garden for some climbing, then back to the Esplanade/Springwater. Now that’s power! More info here.

North Portland Bike Works Winter Formal Sale – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at North Portland BikeWorks (N)
This fun holiday tradition is hosted by Mississippi’s neighborhood bike shop. Dress fancy and get 25% off all bikes and parts (everyone else gets 20% off). Treats and hot toddies provided for your convenience and merriment. More info here.

Corvidae Bike Club Toy Drive – 2:00 pm at Peninsula Park Rose Garden (N)
Bring an unwrapped new toy and join the Corvidaes for a ride to Kenton Station (pub and eatery) where they’ll collect your gift and get it in the hands of foster and at-risk youth in time for Christmas. More info here.

I believe that the North Portland Bikeworks sale is on Sunday, not Saturday.

The individual event page still lists it as Saturday, just as a heads up. I really appreciate the event calendar and the ability to export to google calendar!
