The forecast calls for plenty of sun this weekend. Yes there could be some rain, but that’s what keeps things interesting around here.

Friday, April 10th

Bike Gallery Warehouse Sale – April 9th ~ 13th

Midnight Mystery Ride – 12 midnight at The New Copper Penny (5932 SE 92nd Ave)
The weather should be great for MMR tonight. The ride will leave from the legendary New Copper Penny and the destination is, well, of course a mystery. More info here.

Saturday, April 11th

River City/Sorella Forte Women’s Group Ride – 9:00 am from River City Bicycles (706 SE MLK)
If you’re just getting into cycling and ready to ride in a group, come out and roll with the members of Sorella Forte Cycling Club. This will be an intermediate-level ride with a pace of about 15-17 mph. Ride happens rain or shine. More info here.

Mountain Bike Skills Clinic – 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Sandy Ridge Trail System
Wenzel Coaching is back for the third clinic in their MTB skills series. Intended for beginner and intermediate riders, this clinic will help you refine existing skills and learn new ones while putting what you learn to the test at one of the best riding areas in the region. Clinic is $35 and requires an OBRA license. More info here.

Sunday, April 12th

Patagonia Worn Wear Tour – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Patagonia retail store (907 NW Irving)
This cross-country tour is Patagonia’s attempt to encourage you to keep clothes in use for as long as possible, which lessens your ecological footprint. Patagonia experts will be on-hand to help with things like new zippers, buttons, tears, and so on and they’ll even teach you DIY skills. More info here.

Tweed Ride – Tea at 2:00, ride at 3:00 pm from Cathedral Park in north Portland
A most wonderful day is planned around the annual Tweed Ride. Join a classy assemblage of ladies and gentleman for tea and a picnic in the park followed by a civilized ride to the after-party in northeast Portland that will feature prizes, music and assorted merriment. Bring snacks to share, tea to drink, and of course dress in your best vintage apparel. More info here.

Paris-Roubaix Live – 11:00 am at Velo Cult Bike Shop & Tavern (1969 NE 42nd)
Watch the ultimate spring classic bike race among other aficionados at our favorite local hang-out. While you’re there, sample the always-growing drink menu (which now includes beer, cider, coffee, tee, cocktails and more) and new sandwiches! More info here.

On the West Coast, most races end somewhere between 8am and 9am, so Paris Roubaix at 11am will not be live… http://www.cyclingfans.com/paris-roubaix/live
