Job: Bicycle Mechanic/Salesperson – Orenco Station Cyclery

Job Title
Bicycle Mechanic/Salesperson

Company/Organization
Orenco Station Cyclery

Job Description
Are you looking to take on the responsibilities and rewards of running your own bike maintenance business? Opening soon, the Orenco Station Cyclery in Hillsboro is looking for a dynamic, experienced individual to manage the in-store Wrench Bench bike repair business. In addition to commissions on bike sales, gear and parts, what you earn is based on your bike maintenance sales minus overhead for Orenco Station Cyclery services, such as space and equipment. Foremost, you must have professional (i.e., paid) bike maintenance experience. A successful candidate will also have sales and business experience. This is your business to run, not a paid-by-the-hour job; contract terms are negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

2 years professional bike mechanic experience, including new bike set up, tune-ups and repairs (preferably complete builds/overhauls).

2 years retail bike sales experience with obvious customer service skills and enthusiasm for our clientele as well as the community.

Business experience is a plus, including employee management and operational/financial planning.

Needs little or no supervision to make decisions for whatever needs to be done.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
