Job Description
The ideal candidate has deep retail and merchandising experience. You will assist with running the day to day operations of the store as well as be the main point of contact for our guests from all over the world as they phone and walk through the door. Love of bicycles is a must, bike shop experience is a plus.

Being a part of the Pedal team is:
Creative

Responsible for retail area and merchandise display design and upkeep, stock levels and tidiness.
Order new product lines by constantly searching for new and useful ideas
Recommend product orders by analyzing sell through of product
Create Purchase Orders, Receive inventory orders
Answer phones, take messages
Book Tour reservations
E-mail correspondence
Open and closing of the shop

Vibrant and Social

Sociable/personable/friendly- Can provide the highest level of customer service
A broad knowledge of Portland/Oregon/NW history and culture, local restaurants, sights, shops.

Give advice and directions using a map

Outfit bicycle rental customers with bike, helmet and accessories
Order Processing- Ring up orders, handle cash, operate credit card machine, bag orders
Maintain strict inventory control of retail, equipment and bicycles

Must be willing to work weekends, particularly June-Sept.
