Pedalpalooza Daily: Monday, June 20th

Happy Monday Pedalpalooza fans! Today you’ll find a swell selection of rides including fun on a bike for stay-at-home dads (complete with a “child-throwing contest”, tree lovers, and even a special ride for folks named Aaron (or Erin, or Erinne, or, well, you get the idea).

1:00pm Mr. Mom Ride – Full-time dads unite!
NE Prescott St and 20th Ave Take Trimet (Meetup in Hydro Park)
Dads and their charges will enjoy a casual, manly tour of manly attractions.
Meet Up: CHILD-THROWING CONTEST at Hydro Park (NE Prescott and 20th). The overhead ‘catch & release’ is a dad’s prerogative. Dads with kids still young enough to fly will aim for the heavens.
Stop #2: Bike trailer SKILLS COURSE. Test your trailer or long-bike handling skills on the obstacle course (location TBD).
Stop #3: GRILLED CHEESE SNACKS at Sassy’s Bar and Grill parking lot (ooo, so close!).
Stop #4: FIRE ENGINES! Guided tour of firefighting equipment.
Wrap Up: BEER/JUICE at Mash Tun Brewery.

5:00pm Canadian Pride Roller Hockey Ride
Meet at Alberta Park, NE 20th Ave and Killingsworth
Join us in celebrating one of Canada’s national unofficial sports, Street Hockey! We skate every Monday that has dry pavement! We bike to the rink at Alberta Park and then play roller hockey on roller blades, feet, and roller skates.

5:30pm Acro Yoga Ride! Southeast Parks Tour
Meet at Ladd’s Rose Circle, SE Ladd Harrison
Fun and Moderate Ride, followed up with some yummy Thai Therapeutic Flying, Acrobatic Partnering, and general awesomeness! Pack a snack for potluck! **(no partner required, all you need to bring is yourself!)**
1. We’ll start out in Ladd’s Rose Garden Circle. (the big one!) Partner stretches for a juicy warm up.
2. Wind our way through the South East up to the top of Mt Tabor for Thai Therapeutic Flying and awesome city views.
3. Roll down to Colonel Summers Park for a Potluck and Acro Yoga Jam.

6:00pm AErin Cubed Ride
Meet at Meier & Frank building, 621 SW 5th Ave (SW corner, kitty corner from Pioneer Courthouse Square)
Attention Erins, Aarons, Erinnes, Arons (& other spellings); & friends & lovers of Erins & Aarons! – Join your Erinnerific guides–Erin K, Aaron T and Erinne G–on a ride to celebrate all things in Portland Erin and Aaron related! Expect history, music, laughing, awesomeness & a tiny house! You love Aarons, Erins & Erinnes, and we love you. Hope you’ll join us!

6:00pm Mt. Tabor sunset/musical ride
Meet at SE Lincoln St and 64th
A sunset from the top of Mt. Tabor is a pretty nice thing. Playing music as well? Well alright. Bring your bike and musical instrument and we’ll make noise up on top of Tabor. All are welcome to enjoy the sights and sounds.
We will meet at the parking area/streets on the corner of SE Lincoln and 64th, near the orchard/gardens. Bring a trailer to help haul stuff up if possible, I’ll have one with spare room.

6:00pm Heritage Tree Bike Ride (Vancouver, WA)
Meet at Esther Short Park, 600 SW Columbia St, Vancouver (near the clock tower)
Visit some of Vancouver’s most celebrated Heritage Trees on an enjoyable 4-mile guided bicycle ride. The flat, easy bicycle route begins and ends at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver. Admire trees whose legacies connect us to the proud past of our region. Participants on the ride must respect private property, wear helmets, and obey all traffic laws. RSVP — ride is limited to 30 riders.

6:30pm Epic Pizza Ride
Starts in Sellwood. RSVP required. Email gently [at] gmail [dot] comm
we’ve got your pizza and your epic ride right here! equal parts mystery ride and food sampling tour, be prepared to ride long and eat a variety slices! we’ll visit 5 stops all over town at which we will sample slices. all are welcome–vegans and nonvegans will be accommodated. RSVP only–limited to 50 riders. $10 cash required at ride start.

9:30pm Parks and Places Art Races
Meet at Col. Summers Park SE 20th and Belmont
This race will kick-off after Monday Funday with the placement of our newest free box and then go throughout industrial southeast with over 5 checkpoints of hijinks. Winner gets rad prizes. Everyone has fun. Be there.
