This is not a drill. This is the first big weekend of Pedalpalooza and there is no excuse for not getting out and partaking in all the fun.

Below is a listing of all the rides this weekend. The choices are many: discover urban farms, ogle bike art, learn the finer points of bike jousting, get naked (day or night), shred some urban singletrack, show off your panties.

Grab some friends and choose a few events. Then make them yours.

Need some inspiration? Check out my constantly updated, 2008 Pedalpalooza Photo Gallery.

If you\’re considering doing the World Naked Bike Ride for the first time, but are a little nervous about the whole idea, it\’s a LOT of fun! Portland\’s Freakity Uppity Cycling Kids wrote this AWESOME little article for first-time riders to the event. Read it, it\’s a great little piece!

Also, watch this GREAT video about how London planned and hatched its awesome World Naked Bike Ride!

Mini Bike Life Drawing was loads of fun and very challenging. The models were great and did some excellent 30 second, one minute, five minute and fifteen minute poses, with mini-bikes, of course, and a Bakfiet. There was a good sized group of us in the pavilion at Col. Summers Park. I don\’t know exactly how many were there, too busy drawing! Glad I\’d brought my vine charcoal which is very forgiving. Erin has said she wants to make this an ongoing event. Yay!
