Equipment
All bikes are legal – Mountain bikes, ‘cross, fixed gear, cruisers, unicycles, etc. But take heed: courses will favor those on ‘cross bikes – so choose your weapon wisely! (UCI races will conform to UCI rules on bikes)
Membership & Licenses
OBRA membership required for all riders. Single race memberships are available for $5.00. Season OBRA memberships are available for $10.00.

As you may have noticed, I’ve started a new section called, “Page Two”. I’ve created Page Two because I come across a lot of information and I simply don’t have time to develop into larger, finished stories.
Page Two stories will be less polished, might be simply rehashed press releases, and they will sometimes be precursors to larger stories I’m working on for the Front Page.
Commissioner Sam Adams continues his march toward finding a way to fund fixes to our transportation system with a series of Town Hall Meetings to discuss his “Safe and Sound Streets” campaign.
As he alluded to in my interview with him last week, Adams is facing a potential ballot measure next Spring to fund the initiative.
This campaign includes a major bicycle component to the tune of $24 million for 110 miles of new bicycle boulevards. Watch the Front Page of BikePortland.org for more coverage. For now, be sure to save the date for one of the following Town Halls…

Like we are doing with our Bicycle Master Plan, the City is working on a Streetcar System Plan. Since we all share the same roads, we have to make sure bikes and streetcars coexist nicely.
The City of Portland just announced a series of public open houses where you can learn more and offer your feedback. Here’s their official verbage, followed by the list of locations and dates for the open houses:
