Sprockettes’ pink weekend starts tonight

Sprockettes at the Swap Meet

[You’ve got to see
it to believe it!]

Tonight at Disjecta (SE 3rd and Ankeny), Portland begins a three-day celebration of pink mini-bikes and Sprockettes-style fun.

Yes, our beloved Sprockettes are pulling out all the stops and the whole thing kicks off tonight at 7PM. Check out the line-up:

  • B:C:Clettes and The Brakes bikedance teams from Vancouver, BC will be imported for your enjoyment.
  • K.A.Z.U.M will defy gravity while astounding and amazing you with their acrobalance exquisiteness.
  • On The Double (Seattle) are going to hype the hot rope, doubledoutchtastic.

  • The Sprockettes perform S.O.T.I.l live to music sensations Romanteek
  • Velocipedomaniacs Show Me The Pink will bring the house down with some bicycle booty shaking dancerock.
  • There will be a silent auction as well as an art showcase with artists such as Lyla Emery Reno, Tripper Dungan, 333 Empire, Sasquatch, -struct, Brad Delay,Tiago Denczuk, Nekia, Volta, and many more!!
  • Late night debauchery with DJ’s Puppet and Sniffles
  • MC’s Bossy Boots, Caffeine Jones, and Agent Orange

And the fun doesn’t end there. Day two’s festivities include a tall-bike workshop and an alleykitten (like an alleycat, but with mini-bikes) at Mt. Tabor. And if you’re still standing after Saturday’s party at Free Geek, on Sunday you can play some bike polo at Alberta Park and learn some of their moves at a “BikeDance SkillShare.”

For some cool Sprockettes videos, check out the coverage on them in the Willamette Week.

Sprock on!
