According to Midnight Mystery Ride (MMR) founder Ayleen Crotty, last Friday’s ride was the largest ever. 135 people showed up and took over the streets of North Portland.

Report: Naked Ride and Dance Party
Last night, hundreds of free-spirited pedalers (including me!) crammed into an old industrial building on the Burnside Bridge for an epic party. It was the Pedalpalooza Kick-off Dance Party and World Naked Bike Ride all rolled into one.
Even the infamous martini bike lane guy showed up.

Stolen: Schwinn Ranger

My Schwinn Ranger FS 2.6 bicycle was stolen today outside of Bridgeport Brewing. Its a blue and silver schwinn’s mens bike. It was locked up with a simple wire lock, and it was cut through. My bike is distinctive in that it has BRAND FREAKING NEW tires from yesterday on it (road tires), it has a gold/silver swirled bell, it has a back rack in the black that I have added and it has black aftermarket fenders and it has mounts for planet bike lights. If anyone can help me in any way here, i’d love you. I’m pretty pissed at humanity right now. Please contact me if you have any info.

City denies Springwater development
The City of Portland Bureau of Development Services (BDS) has denied the development application of Shawn Karambelas and his company, SK Northwest (PDF of the official decision).
SK’s application to build on the Willamette River became a big deal because they didn’t want to allow a trail to be built across their property, in spite of the fact that it lies on a city-designated “Greenway”, contains an unofficial City trail easement, and lies between two very popular paths; the Eastbank Esplanade and the Springwater Corridor.

My black/red Gary Fisher Tassajara mountain bike was stolen 6/10 around 2pm infront of Kitchen Kaboodle on NE Broadway & NE 16th ave. It was locked together w/ my wife’s mountain bike, but the lock was cut & her bike was left behind. The serial # is WTUD019986R & there is a Clean Machine (bike shop) Chapel Hill, NC sticker on it. My bike was locked with a cable, along with a friend’s bike, outside of Claudia’s on Hawthorne. They cut the cable and left my friend’s bike, but took mine. Stolen: Specialized Sequoia

Nearly-new silver (titanium color) Specialized Sequoia road bike w/Bianchi Leopard-trim Seat – small frame. Serial number P5GG21553. Stock seat has been replaced by Bianchi leopard trim seat (from a Pista). Stolen 6/8/06 (about 5:20 PM) from the open Lloyd Center parking lot on the north (Halsey side), near the mall entrance. Stolen off a white Toyota Tacoma with canopy and Yakima hitch rack. The bike was double-locked, with the Yakima rack lock and an additional Kryptonite cable lock – both were cut. A Speicalized Roubaix Comp was left on the rack – these jerks obviously don’t know bikes and their values!
