Oregonian quotes a commenter

Wanted to point out today’s Oregonian article on the new bikeway network signs. For most of you, these signs are old news.

What’s cool about the article (besides the nice photo) is that I believe it’s the first time a comment on BikePortland.org has been quoted in the Oregonian.

Here’s the last paragraph of the story:

“Even confirmed bike geeks have good things to say about the signs. When Geller asked for feedback on bikeportland.org, one respondent wrote, “Roger, the signs are flippin’ fantastic.”

Sorry Nate, I’m not sure where she got the “bike geek” part. It wasn’t me. I promise.

I love when this site gets mentioned in the Oregonian. It’s read by a bunch of people a lot less bikey than most of you…and I hope that maybe they’ll stop by, see how much fun we’re having, dust off their old rig, and join us!

Whoa, lucky me!
How did she confirm my geekiness? She was so right.
Congrats on the Oregonian exposure. Chatted for a second with Dingo last night at last thurs. We both agreed you are the bike mayor of Portland.
Ride on.
