Event Description: Clatskanie invites you to come discover some of the most beautiful back roads around. This early morning ride is designed for families as well as serious riders. The family ride (8 miles) or “fat tire” ride takes you out into Clatskanie’s historical dike lands where you will see the ”old burner”, Wallace Fish Station and some incredible River frontage. For cyclist who want more of a challenge, discover some of Clatskanie’s beautiful and hilly back roads, complete with river views, historic bridges and waterfalls. This route (25 miles) includes the 7 mile long “Beaver Creek Corridor” which has 5 beautifully restored historic bridges. This is the longest remaining bypassed section of the original Lower Columbia River Highway and is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Please help support the Clatskanie Heritage Days by participating in this year’s Freedom Ride, It’s a great way to start your 4th of July celebration! We encourage riders to join the parade that follows at 11am.
