STP riders set to descend on Portland

Saturday morning, an estimated 9,000 cyclists will begin the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic (a.k.a. STP).
Some will do the entire 206 mile route in one day, but most riders will opt for two days. The result is a huge “Finish Line Festival” party that takes place at Holladay Park near the Lloyd Center.
The event transforms the park. Imagine thousands of tired and exuberant cyclists getting a hero’s welcome from friends and family, swarming the food vendors and beer garden, and checking out the expo area. It’s a lot of fun even if you don’t do the ride!
I checked out the scene last year and I plan to stop by again this time.
If you’re doing the ride, have a great time and if you see me on Sunday, flag me down so I can snap a photo and say hi.

Doing the one day...and if I still have energy to burn, going to start doing the course in reverse on Sunday and see if I can catch up with some friends.

Yeah, baby - StP!
I am really looking forward to doing this ride again this year. Last year was great! This is a ride that anyone in reasonably good shape can do - basically flat except for one real hill on the first day.
See you all out on the road!

I'll be doing STP with Matt. But I'm opting not to ride down the ugly Hwy 30.
I'll take Michael's route from Longview
