Here we go again- Portland Vintage Velo is holding it’s second in a series of vintage bike rides! The focus of our loosely-knit group is lightweight road, track, and touring bikes built no later than 1986. We had 40 people show up for the first ride, on Memorial Day; we expect an even better turnout for this one!

The planned route is as follows: We will start at the Community Cycling Center, 1700 NE Alberta, in NE PDX, @ 11am. From the CCC, we will ride through NoPo, to the St. Johns Bridge, cross the river, and head for Sauvie’s Island, then return to the CCC.

Total mileage will be about 30 (mostly flat)miles. This is a relaxed, non-competitive ride, and riders of all skill levels are invited. We will regroup frequently; no one will be left behind.

MCBF is the catastrophic culmination of 2+ weeks of Pedalpalooza bike fun. Bring your friend. Bring your bike. Bring your sunscreen. Bring your camera. Bring your best game. Bring your bandages. Bring your bike fun.

A perfect almost end to PedalPalooza… see bicycle related movies under the stars in the Hawthorne Hostel’s spacious side yard! Our feature this year is “You Never Bike Alone”, a documentary on Vancouver BC bike culture. http://youneverbikealone.com And if that ain’t enough for you, enjoy some pre-movie live music and food donated by local businesses!

Enjoy your evening with a leisurely tour of Portland Heritage Trees in North Portland. Come see some amazing specimens of large and unique trees, and the Sugar Maple that has its own matching house!

It’s capture the flag, but with bikes! Everyone welcome. Teams can choose what type of bikes, and how many to include in their strategy. The boundaries will depend on how many people show up.
