We are looking for an experienced mechanic to help our growing service department. Duties will include building boxed bikes for sale, completing production repairs, evaluating incoming repairs and providing accurate and prompt estimates of repair cost, as well as explaining repairs completed, and in need of completion to customers.
We work on all categories of bicycle, and any applicant would need to be comfortable doing so, including, but not limited to, electronic shift systems, suspension servicing, brake bleeding, press fit style bottom brackets, free hub overhaul, etc.

3+ years experience is preferred, and a practical interview is required.

The position is part time, with the possibility of moving to full time, and includes weekend work.

The Corvallis Bicycle Collective, a DIY bicycle repair 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is hiring a part-time Shop Czar. We are looking for someone who:

Has professional experience repairing bicycles;
Is an effective communicator, leader, manager, and educator; and
Can organize and manage tools, volunteers, visitors, parts, bicycles, projects, and demand.

The Shop Czar is expected to work 30 – 38 hours/week in the peak season and 18 – 22 hours/week in the off-season. In exchange, this person will be paid at a rate of $12 – $17 per hour.

Applicants are expected to have at least 2 years of bicycle mechanic experience.

It would certainly be ironic if Southwest Barbur Boulevard became the first arterial in Portland to receive a Copenhagen-style protected bike lane retrofit through a high-destination commercial area.

But that’s exactly what might happen if a regional committee chooses Barbur as the best route for a major new transit line. And getting around outer Southwest Portland would certainly be transformed.
