Red-Orange Schwinn Super Sport 1972

Buffered Bike Lane with a bike symbol and arrow pointing forward

Year: 1972
Brand: Schwinn
Model: Super Sport
Color:Red-Orange
Size:63-64cm
Serial: LHxxxxxx
Stolen in Portland, OR 97214
Stolen:2009-07-15
Stolen From: My girlfriend’s house in LADD’S ADDITION! can you believe that anyone would steal a bike in fucking LADD’S ADDITION?!!!!?!!
It was resting against her New Belgium Tall-Bike in front of the porch. I noticed it was gone when I woke up around 2pm, but thought nothing of it because we usually borrow each other’s bikes. I got hold of her later around 6:30pm last night, and she told me she doesn’t have my bike.
SO, it went missing anytime between 10am and 2pm yesterday the 15th of July.
Neighborhood: Ladd’s Addition

Description: I built this bike up from parts I got off Ebay, including NOS Dia-Compe brake levers/cable-housings. The wheelset came from a ’72 Schwinn Suburban, the Schwinn “S” stem-mounted shifters and stem and drop bars *NO BAR TAPE* and crankset came off a Schwinn Varsity. The seat-post is a Proponent. The seat has “shag”-style fabric all around the bottom with a Oregon Cannabis sticker where ya sit on it.
There is NO head-badge on the bike, I instead set a vintage Garbage Pail Kids “Diaper Dan” sticker where the head-badge would be.
There is also a black “Eat Shit And Die” sticker on the top tube real close to the head-set.
My bike is pretty unmistakable once seen mostly because i’ve NEVER seen another Orange/Red Schwinn Super Sport in Portland and the stickers i set on it that no one else has on their bikes.

please throw your lock on this bike if you see it and call me immediately!!!

Farmer Don Kruger, owner of Kruger’s Farm Market on Sauvie Island, says he’s “hanging tough” after the recent Multnomah County decision on his farm stand permit.

During a standard permit update process that was triggered by a complaint from one of Kruger’s neighbors, the County ruled that Kruger is no longer allowed to host several of the activities that have made his farm a popular destination for many in the Portland region.

In their decision, the County ruled that the only fee-based activities that can happen at the farm are weekly “harvest festivals” and the corn maze. As for bike races, the County wrote that, “The bike races are inconsistent with the code criteria and are not an activity that promotes the sale of farm crops.”

Tigard council says City no longer required to put bike lanes on certain downtown streets

by amendments to planning code.

On June 23th, Tigard City Council voted unanimously in favor of planning code amendments that remove the city’s requirement to have bike lanes on specific downtown streets. Along with that decision, they also voted on a code amendment that allows them to put on-street motor vehicle parking on those streets where it was previously not permitted.

Prior to the vote, Tigard’s Transportation System Plan stated, as per their Bicycle Master Plan, that all arterial and collector streets should have a bike lane. The amended code now reads, “…with the exception of collectors within the downtown urban renewal district.”

In a statement released today, the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) said they are “concerned” about the Council’s decision and the Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition (WashCoBTC) emailed the City expressing their opposition.
