Welcome to this week’s roundup! Let’s start with a great success- New Yorkers are happy that the protected Pulaski Bridge Bike Path is open (see it on a map). It was done by reclaiming a lane from cars. The video above, from Streetfilms, shows the path and reactions to it.

Welcome to this week’s roundup! Our first video (above) is a great 10-minute trailer about the Tall Bike Tour and fringe society. It’s somehow related to The Winking Circle (artsy straightedgers?) near Toronto. In any case, the trailer is really interesting even as a standalone piece.

Welcome to this week’s roundup! This past weekend was the Emerald City Bike Ride in Seattle. It’s the first year, and the highlights were riding across the new Hwy 520 floating bridge and then going down the I-5 express lanes. It had a similar surreal feeling as riding over the Fremont Bridge during our city’s Bridge Pedal event. Above is my short highlights video; another interesting view was from the rider who was first out and got to set the KOM across the bridge and then again on the express lanes.

Welcome to this week’s roundup! We’re starting with a trailer (above) for “Cheetah”, a documentary about Nelson Vails, who was a pro cyclist in the 1980s- and is black. That was rare and pioneering for that generation (see also: Major Taylor from an earlier generation), so he is an inspirational figure to many.
