In case you haven’t noticed, it’s cyclocross season here in Portland. Last weekend local cross lovers got a taste of all the mud and fun to come out at the Battle of Barlow and tonight is the inaugural event of the Blind Date at the Dairy series. The five-race series happens every Wednesday from tonight to October 27th. The races start at 5:00 so be prepared for sunsets, twilight, and even night-time conditions (if you’re in the A category, which starts at 8:00).
I made it out to one of the Blind Dates last year. Check out the slideshow below for a bit of inspiration…
Stay tuned to the OBRA calendar for the full cyclocross schedule and check out Oregon Cycling Action for all the race recaps and photos.

Man, I just sold my cross bike and now these photos have me jonesing for a bit of racing… Alpenrose has always been my favorite course.
Jonser:
Be aware that the Dairy has unloaded 50,000 TONS of fill dirt behind the track, the sheds, and the softball diamonds!
Courses will be most strange, indeed!
But I’ll be out there tonight
Jonathan,
you have here the makings for a BPortland calendar. Some of these pictures are poster material. Compelling stuff. Think about it!
