Ride Report
As one attendee put it, the Tour de Raunch was full of sexy, naked tattooed win!

Grand total, we had about 15 attendees; some joined us a little late, some left a little early. We gathered at Col Summers park at 8 pm and socialized a bit. Mags (one of the ride leaders) brought glowstick necklaces and bracelets for everybody, There were some bikes adorned with EL wire and a bike with monkey lights in the spokes, so we were a well-lit, colorful crew. The ride departed at 8:30, and over the next five hours we wandered to Devil’s Point, Rose City Strip, Lucky Devil and Sassy’s. We stayed 30-60 minutes at each club, plenty of time for a drink and to see several dancers before moving on.

A couple of interesting notes:

– Glowstick necklaces make it _really_ easy to gather your riders in a darkened, noisy club. That’s not why we did it, but it worked great!

– One dancer asked “What’s the big event”. When she was told “Pedalpalooza”, she misheard and said, “What? You just got out of prison?” 🙂

– Another dancer asked who we were and when we explained, she squealed with excitement, “I love Pedalpalooza! I can’t wait for the Naked Bike Ride!”

– And another dancer said, “Oh cool, Pedalpalooza! What ride is this?” Umm, the stripclub ride?

For a threesome of first-time hosts, this ride was about ideal. The group size was perfect; some of these clubs were small and/or packed and more people would have been awkward. We were pretty focused on keeping an accurate headcount and making sure we weren’t leaving anyone behind. The riders were friendly, enthusiastic and seemed to really enjoy the clubs.

Our collective thanks to all who came out for the ride!

I had a great time on this ride! Nothing like 15 folks parking bikes simultaneously outside of a club to show everyone hey, cyclists love exotic dancing too! The glowstick feature was smart, we spent just enough time at each place, and the route was enjoyable and well planned out. Great job, y’all!
