Event of the Week: Bike Economics Fundraiser and Showcase

On Thursday night, twenty local, women-owned bike businesses will take center stage and a new scholarship fund will be created at Bike Economics.

The event is being put together by Elly Blue and Ellee Thalheimer and will be hosted at the Portland campus of United Bicycle Institute at 3961 N Williams Ave.

Since we announced this event a few weeks ago, many more businesses have been added and a huge list of door prizes and sponsors has been put together.

Here’s the list of presenting businesses:

And all money raised from the $10-$30 sliding scale will go to a new scholarship fund that will, “assist women in attending conferences or pursuing leadership training or professional development workshops for the purpose of enhancing their ability to act as leaders in active transportation.”

Sounds like an exciting night. Here are the details:

    Bike Economics: A fundraiser showcasing local, woman-owned, bicycle-oriented businesses
    When: Thursday, May 6, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
    Where: United Bicycle Institute, 3961 N Williams Ave, Portland
    Donation: $10 to $30
