Bike tour directors hold annual conference in Portland

Today through Saturday the National Bicycle Tour Directors Association (NBTDA) is holding their annual conference in Portland.

The NBTDA is based in Minneapolis and their mission is to “provide development and networking opportunities” for “individuals and entities who operate recreational bicycle events”. Over 100 ride directors from all over the world are members of the organization.

During the conference, attendees will get an earful of professional advice. On the schedule are presentations on everything from how to run a “green kitchen” to an overview on how “mobile showers can add value” to events. Attendees will also get an overview of the national bike movement from League of American Bicyclists Executive Director Andy Clarke, get a crash course in bicycle law from lawyer Ray Thomas and a get a presentation of the new RideOregonRide.com website from Kristin Dahl of Travel Oregon.
