Bike gang documentary coming to Portland
Portland is home to more than a few bike gangs. We’ve got:
- The Belligerantes: Mostly a social club, they ride classic Schwinns with ape-hanger bars and banana seats.
- The Zoobombers: Everyone knows what they do.
- Chunk 666: Mutant bike builders preparing for “car”mageddon.
- Dropout Bike Club: They build all types of bikes (tall, swing, spin, mini, etc…) and have weekly rides.
Hold on to your helmets, here comes Pedalpalooza
Pedalpalooza — a 17-day explosion of bike rides and events that sets Portland’s cycling scene apart from all others — kicks off with a roaring start today (actually, there’s a morning ride on the Columbia Slough going on right now).
PDOT partners with Kryptonite for Pearl bike parking
U-lock maker Kryptonite is partnering up with the City of Portland Office of Transportation (PDOT) to develop and install two new on-street bike parking “corrals” in the Pearl District.
The new bike parking structures will go in front of Pacific Northwest College of Art at NW 13th and Johnson and in front of Acorn Cafe at 539 NW 13th.
Stolen Schwinn Cruiser Deluxe 7
2003 Cruiser Deluxe 7. It is red, black and chrome. Seven speed with springer front and Schwinn Typhoon Balloon in middle with horn. Missing front light. Dice shrader caps, bell on left handle bar. Tires are 26X2.125. Looks a little like the Pee Wee Herman bike on Pee Wee’s Big Top Adventure. May be brought in for tune up, not all the gears were catching.
