SUMMARY
The Finance Assistant assists the Chief Operating Officer in various finance and human resource functions
and is responsible for tracking and recording of all financial transactions in the office.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Research and selection of new time tracking system.
• Monthly invoicing of clients, including preparation of invoicing reports and forms.
• Tracking staff time and project expenses on a weekly basis.
• Preparation and recording of cash receipts and daily deposits.
• Maintaining and recording all accounts payable, transactions and preparation of cash disbursements.
• Accumulation and recording of all client project expenses in timekeeping and billing system.
• Assisting with the preparation of weekly or monthly reports including: accounts receivable, cash flow,
project/job costing, project caps.
• Preparing monthly client statements and following up on outstanding invoices.
• Assisting with improving and maintaining all organizational systems related to bookkeeping (filing, forms,
procedures, software, etc.)
• Assisting as back up with front desk phone coverage.
• Research into insurance, compensation, benefits and other HR issues.
• Manager of the Alta 401k program.
• Updating the Employee Handbook annually.
• Filling out special registration forms to get Alta registered in cities or States in which we operate, renewing
and tracking as necessary
• Coordinating all HR duties including new employee and exiting employee procedures; developing systems
as necessary
• Serving as a member of the Alta team, providing assistance with miscellaneous projects, creative
brainstorming, internal projects and other duties necessary for the success of the organization.

HOURS and WORKSPACE
• Full time/ Part time negotiable
• Professional workload of up to 40 hours per week, as well as any additional time necessary to complete
your duties.
• 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
• Flexible hours and workspace; work from home possible

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
• $35,000-$45,000 DOE plus excellent benefits, flexible work schedules, and a fun, collaborative work
environment with an extremely dedicated and skilled group of planners and designers.

QUALIFICATIONS
• B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of two to five years professional experience in bookkeeping role.
• Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, preferably in a professional services
company environment.
• Well developed participatory management and administrative skills.
• Well organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
