Job Description
This is a temporary, part-time position in the Center for Transportation Studies. Position will require 15-25 hours/wk, depending on work load. Position to start as soon as possible and is anticipated will continue through 6/30/07. Position Summary The purpose of this position is to provide clerical and administrative support to the Initiative for Bicycle and Pedestrian Innovation, a new research, education and outreach program located in the Center for Transportation Studies. This position is the first contact for persons seeking information about the Initiative. In addition to general office duties, the position will assist the Director in coordinating events and other program-related activities, write newsletter articles and other materials, assist in organizing professional development courses, and update the website. Ideally, the position will also be able to help in the design and development of the website. Essential Duties Facilitate communications between program staff and participants. Respond to inquiries from graduate students and the general public. Assist in the coordination of events and other program-related activities, including professional development courses. Development of other communication and marketing materials. Website maintenance. Website design and development (depending on qualifications). Secondary Duties Office support, answering phones, and duplication. Minimum Qualifications: Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task. In-depth knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and/or developing websites. Interest in and knowledge of bicycling and pedestrian planning issues. Salary Range: $11.38-$15.35/hr; there are no benefits associated with this position
