Portland, OR – The 2nd Annual Franz Bakery Criterium will take place Saturday, June 25. The event is located in Portland’s Central Eastside around the Franz Bakery. The 1.13km (.7mi) course features eight turns, a fast descent and 40-feet of climbing per lap.
This criterium will be scored as a points race. The winner of each lap will receive two points. On the final lap, the top 15 riders will earn points in the final sprint (30-25-22-19-17-15-13-11-9-7-5-4-3-2-1). The rider with the most points, wins the race. There is also $5 per lap prize to the winner of each lap. It pays to be aggressive at this race. $3,000 in prizes will be available. Payout is three deep for all categories; five deep for Men Cat 1-3 and Women Cat 1-3.
Madison’s Grill will be grilling up some hot dogs, beer sausages and tofu dogs.
Pre-registration is $25 until 11:59 p.m. June 24. Day of registration is $30 and $15 for additional races. Event day registration ends 15 minutes prior to each race.
Upper Echelon Criterium and Cornering Clinic
Before racing begins, the Upper Echelon Women’s Team will be hosting a Criterium and Cornering Clinic starting at 1:15 p.m. The clinic led by Tina Brubaker will cover cornering, criterium starts and packing riding. The clinic will be held in the North parking lot at the intersection of NE 9th and Flanders. The clinic is $8 with race entry or $10 without. Contact Stephanie Chase at email@example.com.

The Kiddie Krit will be a shortened version of the regular course and will not include the downhill turns.
