Description: Navy blue with red/white lettering on frame. Giant brand front shocks, Campagnolo rims, City Slicker tires with minimal wear. Shimano XT components, finger shifting, Clip pedals, mountain rack over rear tire with large sized rectangle shaped bag over rack. Has computer hook up but I have the computer at home! This is an older bike in EXCELLENT condition. Might have the Kryptonite U-lock still attached.

As we reported last week, a bike lane has been installed on the uphill portion of the N. Mississippi Ave hill. This morning I got a chance to see it up close and personal.

This project is yet another example of how the City of Portland’s Bureau of Transportation is removing re-striping and/or removing travel lanes on our roads to create space for bicycles (other examples are SE Holgate and the cycletrack on SW Broadway).

BTA takes new direction with CRC strategy after walking away from advisory committee

We reported last week that the Bicycle Transportation Alliance has decided to resign from the the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee for the Columbia River Crossing project.

A new post to the BTA blog by advocate Michelle Poyourow goes into detail about this decision. The post particularly outlines the BTA’s concerns about the project’s direction, its process, and their disappointment in the evolution of was once touted as a “world class” bicycle and pedestrian facility.

Oregon framebuilders will bring their bike show to town this Halloween

The Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association, a nonprofit group that unites and promotes the booming local handmade bicycle frame industry, has announced that they will host the 2009 Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show this October in Northwest Portland.

The show will be held over Halloween weekend, Saturday October 31st and November 1st, 2009, in the Staver Locomotive Building at 2537 NW 29th Ave in Portland.
