Pedalpalooza events for Friday (6/20)

Another day of exciting Pedalpalooza ride choices.

Tonight is the debut of Portland’s Kidical Mass and the reprise of one of last year’s coolest Pedalpalooza rides, the Sexy Cyclist Ride. You might also want to check out the Worst of Portland ride, and see the seedy underbelly of Portland’s vaunted bikeway network.

Below is a list of today’s events (see the full calendar here):

Bike Lunch

12:15pm – 1:15pm, Every Friday

Portland’s ego is growing even faster than its Urban Growth Boundary but this ride should solve that. Come frolic in the piss and broken glass strewn streets of car-obsessed Portland. It’s going to suck.

6:00pm – 7:00pm, Meet at 6pm. Safety briefing 6:15, ride leaves 6:30 – no dilly dallying!
Kidical Mass hits Portland! Founded in Eugene in April 2008 by Shane Rhodes, of Eugene’s Safe Routes to School program, and Paul Adkins of BikeFriday, this family friendly event is designed to draw attention to kids and families with the necessary reminder that kids are traffic too. This is a law-abiding easy ride in traffic on downtown streets. Helmets are required and decorations and bike bells are encouraged. There’s no fee but bring cash because we’re going for ice cream!

Remedial Ride: French Fries/Milkshakes Edition
Col. Summers Park, SE 20th and Belmont (meet by the bleachers)
6:00pm – 7:00pm, departs at 6pm SHARP! don’t be late! if you are, catch up at either location below.
Come with us as we support two of Portland’s newest (and delicious) food carts in inner SE.
We will meet at Col Summers park and head to Potato Champion (SE 12th and Hawthorne), where we will pick up our fries and then head to Sip (SE 21st and Tibbetts) for our milkshakes.
