What:
Pinot Pedal 2007, the first annual Earth Day bike ride and celebration for the promotion of sustainability. Pinot Pedal brings together the bicycling community, the sustainable farming community, and the community of urban development. Join us for a noon bike ride through Northwest Portland. The ride starts and ends at Urban Wineworks. There will be a complimentary refreshment break stop at Wild Oats along the way. The two-hour ride is organized by and will benefit b.i.k.e. (Bicycles and Ideas for Kids' Empowerment). At 2:00 p.m., meet back at Urban Wineworks in Northwest Portland, to celebrate Earth Day 2007. We'll have food prepared from local ingredients by local chefs (Phresh catering and others), live music by TRASHCAN JOE, wine and beer, fun people and special guests from the City of Portland Department of Sustainable Development and LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology). Sam Adams, a Commissioner of theCity of Portland and who heads the Department of Transportation, will be on hand to discuss alternative modes of transportation for the purpose of promoting sustainability, as well as the proposed Burnside-Couch byway. Also join us for a silent auction to benefit b.i.k.e.
